This audio is a series of excerpts from an improvised performance with Trevor Brown on bass clarinet and myself on cello. The performance was part of a concert series curated by the Improvised Music students at the Sydney Conservatorium of Music. Performance in and curation of these concerts was part of the assessable criteria of course syllabus’ that I developed and taught. No musical material was discussed prior to the performance.

This audio is a series of excerpts from the music composed for the National Institute of Dramatic Art 2022 graduation shown: Blood Wedding. I composed and recorded the music in my home studio, and supervised the graduating student sound designers.

This is a live recording of the first development showing of a new chamber opera ‘Papered’ commissioned by Blush Opera Company. The opera is a biopic of Florence Broadhurst (1899- 1977), an Australian painter, wallpaper and fabrics designer, and businesswoman. The libretto was written by Ariella Van Luyn. The first movement, included here, depicts the young Broadhurst working as a cabaret singer in Shanghai: she has escaped her regional upbringing and created a rich life for herself, will she be able to keep it? I have included both the film and the score in this portfolio.
